Commercial Banking Business Support Summer Internship
The Commercial Banking Business Support Organization is a diverse group of businesses dedicated to providing local service in each of our markets, on-boarding products & services and understanding our clients and their business. The Business Support organization is a critical component of the relationship teams within the bank and supports Chase’s mission to be the best financial services company in the world. Client Service Professionals, Implementation Associates and Know Your Customer (KYC) Analysts do this by acting as advocates for their clients and ensuring their continued satisfaction and retention. Client Service Professionals help their customers with many aspects of their account maintenance and use a strategic, proactive approach to identify crossing selling opportunities through account analysis and product usage. The Client Service Professional is the first line of contact for the customer regarding questions and concerns about their accounts and has daily interaction with their clients. The Implementation Associate is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the set up of cash management products/services, providing consultative assistance to clients and internal partners to ensure the client has a positive on-boarding experience.
Commercial Banking is dedicated to great customer service. We do this by following a strong client service model, being locally placed within our market of clients and providing a focus on risk management. Commercial Banking clients also benefit from our extensive retail branch network. We are uniquely positioned to meet all our customers' financial services needs.
The commitment to our client is to provide premier customer service and is based on the idea that the retention of every client has a profound impact on the bank’s continued profitability and growth potential in today’s highly competitive environment.
What Will You Be Doing?
The program includes a 10-week internship designed for students interested in working with people and building relationships in order to provide the best customer experience possible. The program is open to students in all majors. As an intern, you will gain exposure to our strong client service model, product and service implementations and KYC process by teaming with colleagues and working through their daily responsibilities (shadowing within each business). Each intern is assigned a strategic business case project to further enhance teamwork skills and to allow senior management to gain insight into innovative ideas interns can develop to better the Business Support Organization.
As an intern, you will gain exposure to the various functions of Client Services, On-boarding and KYC through daily tasks, training, shadowing and special projects.
During the first 5 weeks, you will partner with an experienced staff and will work with that person(s) on a variety of tasks that you would do every day as a Client Service Professional, Implementations Associate or KYC Analyst. Activities would include, but are not limited to the following: research and resolution of questions or issues related to client checking accounts or loans, overdraft research, account maintenance, collecting and preparing account documentation from clients, implementing new products and services, due diligence reviews, work on various systems to accomplish tasks and completing required training.
Once proficiency is gained (around the 5 week point), you will be expected to work more independently to continue to build on the foundation gained in the first 5 weeks. You will be an active member of the Business Support team, at times serving as a back-up to a staff member that may be away from the office. In addition, you will have an opportunity to work on special projects. These projects will be assigned to you by your manager and will give you exposure into the larger organization and visibility with senior management.
